Tsavo East National Park

Book or inquire now

Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Park are divided by the Mombasa-Nairobi highway and between them form a conservation area nine times larger than the Masai Mara. The parks are much less visited than the Masai Mara and Amboseli due to the density of the bush which makes game viewing more of a challenge. Visitors often will not see another vehicle while on game drives which creates a thrilling exclusive Kenya safari experience.

The park is home to around 10,000 Elephants which often appear red from dust bathing in the iron-rich soil of the region. The park offers good predator sightings of the short maned Tsavo Lions and cheetahs are often seen. There is a large variety of plains game and browsers as well as specialist animals such as the long-necked Gerenuk and Somali Ostriches. The thinner stripped Grevy’s Zebra also occur in the park.

There are few safari lodges in Tsavo East mostly close to Voi which means that there are large swathes of the park which are left undisturbed. Tsavo East has a different feel to Tsavo West with plains of savannah which are more open making for easier game viewing.
